phoenixville country club wedding | lauren + michael

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Lauren & Mike booked me at the beginning of last year… they live in Massachusetts, were getting married in Pennsylvania, and so we didn’t have a chance to meet face to face until just a few weeks before their wedding. As soon as I sat down with them, I knew it was going to be a great wedding… Lauren & Mike are both incredibly kind and delightful people to be around, and I was really looking forward to their day!

Once again I was joined by Sandor Welsh, who did a great job as usual. I’m including a couple of his shots in this post to tell the story a bit better. Thanks again Sandor!

Enough talk. Show me PICTURES!

Sandor got this shot on the left of Michael waiting with the priest before the ceremony. As for the shot on the right… did I mention it snowed? Yes, and probably the worst weather I’ve ever shot in! Check that… not “worst.” Try “wettest and most chance of getting my gear soaked.” That’s okay! As I tell all of my couples: we’ll do whatever it takes to get great image, and I’m willing to shoot in whatever weather you’re willing to walk out in!

The ceremony took place at St. Ann’s Church in Phoenixville. For these next 3 shots, I was at the front of the church while Sandor was at the back.

As was the case with just about all of my couples in 2009, Lauren and Michael decided that getting great photos was worth getting a little chilly, and so we had a great time shooting around Phoenixville. I think it was worth it, don’t you?

One of my favorite images from that day.

Inside the Colonial Theatre… we managed to show up in between events when no one was there.

Then on to the Phoenixville Country Club for the party…

Another great moment… I caught Mike’s parents at their table from across the room.

Love how we ended the day…

Mike & Lauren – mad props to you both for putting together an incredible day, and for heading out in the snow… TWICE! We really enjoyed spending the time with you… thank you!

beautiful blooms at the moorestown garden club

A few weeks ago, Donna O’Brien from Beautiful Blooms gave a presentation to the Moorestown Garden Club. She asked if I’d come along and take a few photos, so I did! I’m happy to say that I learned a ton about floral design, and while a career change is tempting, I think I’ll stick with what I know. :) Check out these gorgeous arrangements!

Thanks for having me along, Donna!

saucon valley country club wedding | christa + chris

Monday, February 1st, 2010

What’s this? A 2009 wedding where the sun was out? Amazing! Christa and Chris were married in Bethlehem at the end of November, and it really was a completely enjoyable day. This beautiful couple was a gem, very kind and fun to be around. As usual I was fortunate to have some great people to work with… Sandor Welsh came along to 2nd shoot for me, and I love having him along because he works like crazy to get the shot, and I know he’s going to deliver fantastic stuff.

Christa & Chris also hired Darrell Aubert as their videographer… Darrell is a a great guy to work with, and he does beautiful work, too. Brides… if you’re looking for a videographer, be sure to check him out!

Thanks as well to Pondelek’s Florists for their gorgeous arrangements, and to Bigg Romeo for keeping the party going!

I had asked Christa if there were any locations that had special meaning to her and Chris, and so we started shooting at the library at Lehigh University. Any chance I have to shoot in a new or unusual location is fine with me… check out this staircase!

After a little while Chris arrived for their first look. I love this shot Sandor got of Chris entering the building…

Back to the Hotel Bethlehem to finish getting ready…

Then the quick walk over to the Central Moravian Church for the ceremony.

The Saucon Valley Country Club was simply beautiful.

I love getting candid shots of the grandparents.

And, of course, the parent dances are always packed with emotion.

Christa & Chris, thank you again for welcoming us into your day!
