Another weekend, another rainstorm… must be 2009! Not to worry; for some reason, I’ve been blessed with couples who have been all for going out in the rain and getting wet. It’s been challenging, always shooting in the rain and trying to keep my brides & grooms, my gear, and myself dry… but on days like this one in October, it’s all worth it.
Jocelyn & Peter (remember their engagement session a few months back?) were married in Harrisburg. My friend and fellow photographer Mark Gardner joined me for the day, and it was great having him along! A few of the shots below are his. We started off at the Crowne Plaza Hotel where J&P were getting ready.
Makeup by the talented Emily of Cheekadee.
Jocelyn is a wonderfully organized yet low-key bride! Check out this schedule…
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I love having great 2nd shooters along with me. While I was making this image below, Mark was shooting the one above on the left.
We knew it was going to be rainy, so Jocelyn made some calls and arranged for us to head over to the State Capitol building. It’s a beautiful building, these hallowed halls of the state legislature. After giving ourselves a secret pay raise, we got down to the business at hand…
I know I broke a lot of rules of composition with the shot of Peter below… I like the shot anyway.
Then it was off to West Shore Country Club for the party!
Jocelyn & Peter, you went above and beyond to get these photos… thank you for braving the rain!
