Since Jackie & James are getting married in California, I won’t be shooting their wedding, but I was grateful for the chance to take their engagement pictures! We met up in Northern Liberties and took a little time to get to know each other before hitting some spots in the city. I really enjoyed the time I had with them… here are some of the images that I really liked from the session.

One of the things I really enjoy about working in the Philadelphia area is that there are so many different venues in which people get married. Country clubs, mansions, backyards, churches, historical buildings, old factories, and of course, gorgeous ballrooms in Center City. Valerie & David were married in May at St. Monica Roman Catholic Church, and celebrated with their family and friends at the Ballroom at the Ben. Mark Gardner joined me again that day, and as always, I mixed in a few of his shots with mine below.

Valerie & David, you were both a pleasure to work with… thank you for such a warm welcome!

‘Tis the season to get outside and make some great images! The problem is that, as a photographer, I have a zillion images of everyone else in my family, but very few to prove that, yes, I am, you know, here too. And so when my good friend Gabe (of Philip Gabriel Photography) asked if I’d be willing to photograph his family, I said of course… if he’d agree to shoot me and mine. That shoot will happen in a few weeks, but recently I met up with Gabe and Dawn and their daughter in Old City for their shoot.

Late in 2009 I got together with Shannon, Kurt, and their son “L.” I’d shot Shannon & Kurt’s wedding years ago, and it was great to hear from them again! They wanted some family pictures and I was more than happy to oblige. After rescheduling once because of weather, we finally got a gorgeous day and met up in Old City. Here’s the result:

union league wedding | karla + greg

Karla & Greg were married in September and had a fantastic party at the Union League in Philadelphia! I really enjoyed this day… Karla and Greg and their families were so kind and welcoming, and it was truly a pleasure to be a part of their day. Nicole Polk 2nd shot for me, and a few of the images below came from her. Enjoy!

While I’m at the front during the processional, I usually ask my 2nd shooter to stay at the back with the bride and her father to capture some of the moments immediately before they come down the aisle.

A few weeks ago I met up with Maria & TJ to shoot their engagement session. TJ proposed to Maria at the Christmas Village in Macy’s, so when they suggested we shoot it there (I didn’t even know we could do that in August!) I was all for it. TJ called up some people and Macy’s opened up the area just for us. Can’t wait to shoot your wedding next summer, guys! Hope you enjoy these!
