omni hotel independence park | cally + ron

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

This is one of my favorite times of the year. The rush from the holidays has settled down, wedding season is over, and for the first time in months I’m able to catch up on work, refocus on family and friendships, work through big-picture-type-stuff in my business, and rest up for the coming year.

It’s also a time when I am able to share some of what I’ve been working on over the past few months… I have quite a few weddings that are simply waiting to be blogged! This one is from October, when Cally & Ron were married at the Omni Hotel Independence Park. They, too, were blessed with a rainy Saturday, and like always, we made the most of it. I want to thank Bart Breslow of Barton Paul Photography for joining me on this one… Bart’s a great guy and no slouch with a camera, and a couple of the shots below are courtesy of his artistic eye.

Cally & Ron, thank you for allowing us to celebrate with you!

philadelphia college of physicians wedding | talia + john

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Forget about what the TV show says. It’s never sunny in Philadelphia. Not to worry, Talia and John had a gorgeous wedding anyway at the Philadelphia College of Physicians.

Nicole Polk came along to 2nd shoot with me once again, and like most of my great couples this year, T&J were willing to get a little wet for the cause of getting great images.

Enough chit chat. Check these out. We started off at M’s on the Square Salon.

Back to Sofitel to finish getting ready.

A couple quick shots around town before it started pouring…

Love these two that Nicole got of the dads applauding during the recessional.

The College of Physicians is so old and beautiful…

No Macarena kept it classy on the dance floor!

Thanks again, Talia and John, for trusting me with your wedding images!

harrisburg wedding | jocelyn + peter

Another weekend, another rainstorm… must be 2009! Not to worry; for some reason, I’ve been blessed with couples who have been all for going out in the rain and getting wet. It’s been challenging, always shooting in the rain and trying to keep my brides & grooms, my gear, and myself dry… but on days like this one in October, it’s all worth it.

Jocelyn & Peter (remember their engagement session a few months back?) were married in Harrisburg. My friend and fellow photographer Mark Gardner joined me for the day, and it was great having him along! A few of the shots below are his. We started off at the Crowne Plaza Hotel where J&P were getting ready.

Makeup by the talented Emily of Cheekadee.

Jocelyn is a wonderfully organized yet low-key bride! Check out this schedule…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I love having great 2nd shooters along with me. While I was making this image below, Mark was shooting the one above on the left.

We knew it was going to be rainy, so Jocelyn made some calls and arranged for us to head over to the State Capitol building. It’s a beautiful building, these hallowed halls of the state legislature. After giving ourselves a secret pay raise, we got down to the business at hand…

I know I broke a lot of rules of composition with the shot of Peter below… I like the shot anyway.

Then it was off to West Shore Country Club for the party!

Jocelyn & Peter, you went above and beyond to get these photos… thank you for braving the rain!
